Olympic and world medallists, European Champions, champions of France, at the Lyon Indoor Meeting !

7 disciplines will liven up the evening of the 9 February at the Halle Stéphane Diagana in Lyon. With the aim of offering a quality platter, The Auvergne Rhône-Alpes League and the Décines Meyzieu Athletics, Event Co-Organizers, strive to offer the best in athletics and honour its Silver label awarded by World Athletics.

In the 60m hurdles, The winner of the edition 2023 and bronze medalist at the last France indoor championships, Dimitri Bascou is back and will have his work cut out for him in a tight race. Women's, The French Judy Chalcou is currently at the top of the list with a personal best under the 8 Seconds (7''98).

The competitions are full and promise a great show.
In the women's triple jump, the reigning European champion, The Turkish Tuğba DaniŞmaz (14.31 –Istanbul 2023), Second in the meeting 2023, will have to face the Ukrainian Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk (3Th
World), Two-time runner-up in the world championship (Budapest 2023 >15.00m and Oregon 2022 > 14.54m). A duel that will be refereed by athletes like the Finn Senni Salminen (RP 14.63) or the
Slovenian Neja FilipiČ (RP : 14.42m).

The men's long jump is not to be outdone as the field will only include jumpers with records of more than 8m, including the American Will Williams (RP 8.23m) and Uzbekistan Anvar Anvarov (RP 8,22m) in particular, as well as the French Jules Pommery (RP 8,17m) and Tom Campagne (RP 8,12m).

The middle distance and 400m events will align with the same requirements, in order to offer the public a unique and intense show both on the track and in the grandstands.

Over 800m, the three-time indoor champion of France and winner of the edition 2023, Charlotte Pizzo (PR 2'00'96), will face off against the Swiss Lore Hoffmann (PR 1'58'50), 4th of the European Championships in 2022 and Italian style Elena Bello (PR 1'58'97).
Men's Side, All eyes will be on the Moroccan Moad Zahafi (PR 1'43'69) reigning NCAA college champion. He will be surrounded by 3 other Africans who ran under 1'43 and the young Frenchman Paul Anselmini (PR 1'45'42), 3th of the last European Championships Espoirs who will take advantage of this confrontation to improve his record.

At 1500m, The men's world top ranking is out with 1/4 of the entries in the top 40 worldwide : Kenyan Vincent Kibet Keter (PR 3'31'28), The South African Ryan Mphahlele (PR 3'32'90) and Algerian Salim Keddae (PR 3'33'68). A large number of French people will line up over the distance, led by Julian Ranc (PR 3'33'90) present at the last World Championships in Budapest and Maël Gouyette (PR 3'35'94), vice-champion of France Elite.

On the women's side, One of the best middle-distance runners in the world, Cross Country Specialist (4 both European Champion Juniors and Espoirs and 2nd in the last European Seniors), finalist of the last Olympics in the 5000m, The Italian Nadia Battocletti will line up in the 1500m (PR 4'03'34) alongside the Spanish champions, 4th of the last European Indoor Championships Esther Guerrero (PR 4'00'13), of the Ethiopian Habitam Alemu (PR 4'01'41), Czech Kristina Sasínek Mäki (PR 4'01'23), and Finnish Sara Lappalainen (PR 4'02'35). The champion of France Agathe Guillemot (PR 04'03'26) will try to disrupt this predominantly European train.

Finally, The 3000m final will conclude the evening and will make room for the golden youth of the middle distance who distinguished themselves at the last U23 World Championships. Athletes from the highlands take over the Lyon track. In women side, 4 Ethiopians, including Mizan Alem (PR 8'31'20 – 12th in the world rankings) and Kenya Winnie Jemutai, 5km road specialist who will try his hand at an indoor 3000m for the first time. They will be accompanied by the Spanish champion in the 5000m Marta Garcia (RP 8.45.51).

Men's Side, They are Ethiopians, aged from 21 and 18 years and represent the future of world middle distance : Diriba Girma (PR 7'38'79) and Abdisa Fayisa (PR 7'39'63). In their wake, 3 Athletes to watch : the Belgian Robin Hendrix (PR 7'40'53), 3th of the last European Cross Country (Dec. 23) and the French Arthur Gervais (PR 7'45'98) and Étienne Daguinos (PR 7'53'84) who will take advantage of the intensity of this race to smash their personal best.
